Going to be looking at an 09 Jcw Clubman on Monday If everything pans out.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

6 speed manual and c arbon fiber. This will be my first attempt at financing but I’ve got a cosign and a decent down so I think it'll be okay.

That interior carbon fiber trim is so rediculous. I love it

2009 means you’ll have to keep on top of carbon cleaning the intake valves and possibly timing chain (tensioner) problems. Hopefully the previous owner kept up on maintenance and the worst of the common N11 problems are sorted.

The pillar between the back windows is only mildly annoying and I found any objects close enough to worry about can be seen just fine. I loved the barn doors for loading my heavy tool bag and other junk for work.

If you ever have back seat passengers, best tip for MINIs is tallest should sit in back and shorter can be comfortable in front with the seats pretty far forward.

Was the clutch ever weird on you?

Haven’t had any clutch problems in any of my MINIs. 2008 MC: 0-93k, 11 MCC: 0-85k, 2013 MCS, 20-80k factory clutch is still fine. I’ve heard tell of S-models burning up clutches, but probably more from being driven incorrectly. My GTI’s clutch was starting to slip at about 35k having bought it at 20k, thanks to the previous owner.

The early (2007-2011) S engines supposedly had a lot  of problems with intake carbon and timing chains, but if yours made it to 98k still running it must have been maintained pretty well.

The carbon and oil sludge problems sound worrying but like your saying something must’ve been done right if it made it this far.

I noticed after looking over the photos that the carbon fiberhood is aftermarket and the cars on lowing springs. I like the mods but given the cars already slightly above market value I will see if they can go lower.

I don’t think the carbon is a big problem, just have to find a good shop that does walnut blasting every 30-40k or so. Oi l changes are crucial of course. I usually change my own oil but the filter is so darn hard to get to on our MCS I usually have it done at the dealer.
